Termite colonies can be extremely large and well organized; they always seem to find a way inside your home regardless of the type of construction. What’s more is that termites and carpenter ants are often eating away at the structure of your home without you knowing. Unique Pest and Lawn Solutions Pest Control offers a variety of advanced treatment methods in order to control and eliminate both termites and carpenter ants in and around your home.
A liquid treatment is directed at the exact spots where termites and carpenter ants are most active. Liquid treatments are applied to critical entry points, such as in concrete cracks or around plumbing pipes. Liquid treatments may also be applied below grade some 18 to 24 inches deep, directly around the perimeter of your home. A liquid treatment creates an effective barrier protecting your home against future attacks.
Monitoring and Baiting
Our Termite Monitoring and Baiting program requires that monitoring stations be placed in the ground around your home in order to detect and eradicate termite activity. The process follows these steps:
1. Our service technician will place stations in strategic locations around your home. These stations contain monitoring devices for termites.
2. The technician inspects the stations regularly. If a monitoring device shows any signs of termite activity, the technician will place a termite bait in the station in place of the monitoring device.
3. Termites begin to feed on the bait and take it back to their colony. In a short time, the entire colony is successfully controlled or completely eliminated.
4. After termite activity has been eliminated, your service technician will replace it with another monitoring device, followed by regular inspections.
What is the Hex−Pro™ System?
How does the Hex-Pro System work?
It starts with a professional inspection of the home for signs of termites. Hex-Pro termite stations are placed in the soil in prime termite-foraging areas around the house. (In areas of known termite activity, auxiliary Hex-Pro termite stations may also be installed and baited immediately.) Hex-Pro termite stations are checked regularly for signs of termite activity.
When termites are found in the Hex-Pro termite stations, they are transferred to a bait cartridge placed in the stations. The bait cartridge contains Shatter™ termite bait. In cases where baited auxiliary Hex-Pro™ termite stations are installed immediately, transferring termites is unnecessary.
Termites feed on Shatter termite bait, tunnel back to their colony, and send their nestmates back to feed on the bait. Generally, after several weeks, the termite colony declines and eventually is destroyed.
After the termites have been controlled, used bait cartridges are replaced with wood monitors. The pest management professional continues to check for signs of new termite activity as long as the service agreement continues.
